What It’s REALLY Like to Live in Florida

The idea for this post goes back to September of last year. Emily of Freedom Laughs asked me if I had ever thought about doing a post on what it is actually like to live in Florida. I, of course, never even considered it, but I loved the idea the moment I read it, so this one is for you, Emily!

Born and raised in Casper, Wyoming, I am mostly accustomed to wind, snow, and very dry air. I’ve never been one for skiing, snowboarding, sledding, etc., so the winter never did anything for me except hurt my face. Continue reading “What It’s REALLY Like to Live in Florida”

Hello everyone! I am blown away that I have finally reached 500 followers! I definitely owe most of this success to Ben Huberman at Discover. I was lucky enough to get featured on November 20, 2017. In a matter of hours, I went from 67 to over 400 followers. I was not expecting to reach 500 for years, so the fact that it happened so fast has really been humbling and amazing.

For a long time, I’ve planned to do a giveaway as soon as I reached 500 followers. Christmas is a time for giving, so I am so grateful that this year, my 500 mark just happened to fall around Christmas Day!  Continue reading “500 FOLLOWERS GIVEAWAY!”

Catching and Raising Salamanders and Toads!

I first got the idea for this post from Erin Burton’s post “Tadpoles: Catching, Raising, and Observing Metamorphosis” on her blog, Unbound Roots. I knew that I would be catching and raising both salamanders and frogs over the summer, so I planned to do a similar post on my adventure!

If you are new here and don’t know much about me, I am an avid herper. Don’t get the wrong idea, this is someone who goes out and actively looks for reptiles and amphibians. What can I say…I love the creepy-crawlies! While my boyfriend was in Wyoming with me this summer, we were trying to find as many reptile/amphibian species as we could. Among the list of snakes and lizards, this also included frogs, toads, and tiger salamanders. Continue reading “Catching and Raising Salamanders and Toads!”

The Importance of Travel Journals

Let’s be honest … I have a TERRIBLE memory. I’m talking like put on my seat belt and then try to put it on again bad. Yes, this has happened more times than I can count. I legitimately don’t remember much of what happened in high school or really anything before that. Because I would really enjoy remembering my life, I have slowly learned to adapt.
